The City of Turku provides family law services under the host municipality model for Kaarina, Kemiö Island, Koski Tl. Kustavi, Laitila, Lieto, Marttila, Masku, Mynämäki, Naantali, Nousiainen, Paimio, Parainen, Pyhäranta, Pöytyä, Raisio, Rusko, Salo, Sauvo, Somero, Taivassalo, Turku and Vehmaa.

The city of Turku offers multicultural early childhood education, which means that all children are taken into account equally and fairly regardless of age, gender or colour. In day-care services, the aim is to provide children belonging to cultural minorities with the opportunity to grow up in a multicultural society so that they can become a part of both their own cultural environment and Finnish society.

A pupil can be assigned a special diet on the basis of food allergy or hypersensitivity and for religious or other ethical reasons. The need for a special diet is assessed in school health care. The special diet should be followed on a regular basis.
If the pupil needs a special diet for health reasons, the guardians should contact the school nurse annually.

The activities of the family clubs are preventive child protection. You can join the service under the guidance of a nurse of the Maternity Clinic or the Child Welfare Clinic or a social worker specialized in child welfare.
The employees of the group provide guidance on issues related to the childcare and upbringing as well as they support parenting. In family clubs you can learn everyday skills and prevent exhaustion and loneliness as a parent. The club also provides peer support for the families.
The home service for families with children includes, for example, the necessary assistance in the home care and support for the daily routines of the family with children, support for the parenting and for the functioning of the family.
The contact person is the family conselor of the city, who also makes the mapping home visit, which is a prerequisite for providing the service.

Family work is a form of support for families who have a need for social support. Family work is done at the client's home or in groups. The evaluation of the dedicated social worker of the family is required for receiving the service.
If the family has difficulties in coping with its everyday life such as the childcare or a sudden or a prolonged crisis, a family worker can support the family to cope with the situation. The family worker searches for networks that support the daily life of the family together with the family.
Social Guidance includes counselling, advising and support in the use of the social services. The Social Advisor helps you to find suitable social services and to combine different forms of social service as well as gives advice related to your rights as a customer. You can get practical helps in taking care of your matters such as filling in applications.
Social Advisor provides guidance and support specially for the adults of the family or for example for a young person who wants to become independent.
Social Work for Families with Children supports you in difficult situations when you want to have a change in your life or when you feel overwhelmed by several kinds of challenges and you aren't sure how to get forward in life.
Social Work for Families with Children is done in cooperation with the family. The social workers search for suitable solutions depending on the situation of each family. They encourage the families in the change and work in cooperation with the network of the city and each family.

Café Navigare is an inviting summer café on the back deck of the ship, with a view to the riverside landscape of the Aura River.
The café serves fresh pastries, savoury snacks and refreshing beverages.
Navigare’s deck areas on both sides of the ship are used as a café terrace. They are also licenced areas for serving alcoholic drinks.

The ship has several elegant and traditional premises for holding various celebrations, meetings and banquets. Most of the restaurants are open only by prior arrangement.

The client fee for all activity organised at 11.00 am–5.00 pm during the operating months of the Afternoon activity is 110 euros per month. For the activity organised at 11.00 am–3.00 pm, the fee is 92 euros per month. The fee covers instructed activities, materials, a snack, and an insurance. The fee is charged for each month that the child attends the Morning and Afternoon activities. For August, only half of the normal monthly fee is charged.

You will be reminded of submitting your income declaration by an SMS and/or an email when the income details impacting on the amount of the day care payment or service voucher are older than one year.
The messages are automatically sent from our client data system at regular intervals. The customer must send her/his valid income details to the Department of Early Childhood Education immediately after having received the request.

Why does my child’s picture appear in Päikky?
It is a security picture used for identification. Relying merely on the children’s names could cause a security risk in situations where the staff would not be able to recognise the children by their names only due to a short-term substitution or on-call duty time. The security picture is saved on a secured server owned by Abilita Oyj.

This year’s New Year’s celebration at the Cathedral Square in Turku will be particularly joyous, as the event will also usher in the centenary of Finland’s independence. In addition to the traditional programme, the evening will also feature more entertaining elements. The audience will be taken on a 100-year journey through time and given a peak at the upcoming Finland 100 events.

Fairy tale adventure

The Adventure Park theatre stages a wide variety of high-quality performances aimed at children and families all year round. Ticket reservations can be made on the website. The theatre programme includes plays, circus and magic acts, dance and children's music concerts.

The age recommendations are suggestive. Free admission for children under 1 year of age, except for performances aimed specifically at this age group.

The Adventure Park area is always open and free of charge. The park has a large number of swings, climbing structures and other playground equipment, which can also be used outside normal park hours.

Adventure Park is located on the outer edge of the expansive Kupittaa Park, close to the Kupittaa railway station. It is roughly two kilometres from the Market Square.

Located on the edge of Kupittaa Park, Adventure Park is an activity centre for children and families alike. Adventure Park is part of the national network of children's culture centres . Since its opening in 1982, Adventure Park has served as a provider of children's culture. Regularly changing theatre performances, participative events and workshop activities are the cornerstones of Adventure Park operations. Adventure Park is part of City of Turku Youth Services.

Children and Adolescents' Outpatient Clinic provides specialist level examinations and care for patients who are under 20 years old and reside in Turku.
When your child becomes ill, primarily contact your local health station or a private clinic where a doctor assesses the situation and, if needed, writes a referral to follow-up treatment, for example, to Children and Adolescents’ Outpatient Clinic.
