Service vouchers for personal assistance are used by clients with severe disabilities who need assistance in their daily activities at home (washing, dressing, dining) or away from home (accompanying and assistance with daily transactions). Clients can be disabled in many different ways (physical disability, visual impairment, progressive illness, such as MS, intellectual impairment, etc.).
Turku offers day care, preschool education and playschool activities for children under school age. After parental leave the child can stay at home care or go to municipal or private day care.
In the City of Turku there are private day care centres, group family day care homes and private childminders which are all monitored by the municipality. Contact the day care provider directly to apply for a place.
For private day care allowance and municipal supplement please contact the Social Insurance Institution of Finland (Kela).
Municipal Day Care
When the child is granted a place in day care, the family is asked to submit an income statement either through the electronic service or by mail. If, however, the family is willing to pay the maximum fee, no income statement is needed. An entrepreneur is asked to submit a form for entrepreneurs in addition to the income statement.
