You can apply for the transport service at the services for the disabled. The telephone service to book an appointment with a social workers is open Mon, Wed and Fri 9 a.m.–10 a.m.
The telephone service for service managers of transport services for persons over 70 years of age is open Mon – Fri 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. and Mon, Tue and Thu 1 p.m. – 2 p.m.

Turku is taking part in a trial in which children will start pre-primary education at the age of five. The trial will be carried out by the Ministry of Education and Culture from the start of August 2021 to the end of May 2024. The trial involves children born in 2016 and 2017.

Kynnys ry is an organisation supporting the fundamental human rights of people with disabilities. The organisation also maintains the Turku for All website, detailing accessibility information on public and private services in Turku. Locations have been assessed and verified by Kynnys ry's surveyors. The surveys have followed well-defined criteria and the results are described using text, photographs and symbols.

This project is part of the regional development project package funded by the Ministry of the Interior: “Co-development and research project for regional preparation of rescue services reform”. The project is part of the theme of civil defence and preparedness, the sub-theme of which is the development of a national civil defence operating model.

The Accompaniment Card makes it easier for a person with a disability or a chronic disease to exercise and experience culture. The card entitles one person to free admission to accompany or assist the card holder.

A pupil can be assigned a special diet on the basis of food allergy or hypersensitivity and for religious or other ethical reasons. The need for a special diet is assessed in school health care. The special diet should be followed on a regular basis.
If the pupil needs a special diet for health reasons, the guardians should contact the school nurse annually.

New customer at the immigrant office
The services of the immigrant office are targeted at immigrants with refugee backgrounds in Turku who have lived in Finland for a maximum of three years.
Sign up at the immigrant office info desk Mon–Fri 9–10 a.m. and take your ID card, residence permit decision and rental agreement with you.

According to section 669 of the city council decision on adopted on 15 December 2009, the City of Turku will only accept e-invoices. The city's invitations to tender require that the supplier can send e-invoices. If the supplier cannot send an electronic invoice from its invoicing system, the supplier may use our Vendor Portal, which they can access free of charge.

We recommend that you make an e-invoice agreement in your own online banking facility. To make an e-invoice, you will need the reference number of your most recent invoice. Corporate customers have the option of receiving invoices from the City of Turku as e-invoices.
If you do not make an e-invoice agreement, a paper invoice will be sent to your home.
