Inventive urban planning won the Beyond 2030 Challenge science competition

Econsult from Lauttasaari High School for International Business in Helsinki won the national upper-secondary-level Beyond 2030 Challenge science competition organised by the City of Turku and Bayer. Erika Pajunen's Econsult team's topical work in environmentally friendly urban planning impressed both the jury and the audience. The winner was decided in a close final of five teams in front of a live audience on April Fools' Day. The winning team was awarded with 4,000 euros.

Instructions for those arriving to Turku from Ukraine

If you arrive to Finland from Ukraine, you are allowed to stay for 90 days without a visa, apply for temporary protection or asylum. At the moment, it is best to apply for temporary protection. (Updated April 12th.)

The national Beyond 2030 Challenge science competition of the City of Turku and Bayer is making rapid progress. The pre-jury has selected 25 teams to continue, of which the jury selected a further 10 teams to compete for the final phase of the science competition. The science competition is aimed at all students in upper secondary education on a national level.

City of Turku and Bayer hold unique science competition for all upper secondary students in Finland

The Beyond 2030 Challenge science competition encourages all students in upper secondary and vocational education in Finland to take a plunge into the world of science and technology. Inspired by a successful first year, the contest is expanding from Southwestern Finland to upper secondary, and vocational school students all over the country. The contest encourages young people to discover the innumerable career and study opportunities that exist in the fields of technology and sciences, and to increase cooperation of the different actors with institutions of higher education and corporations.
